Interior furnishings and usable living space

Begin with a normal weekday

Imagine arriving home, putting down bags, preparing a meal, doing laundry, and settling down to work or rest. Trace those movements on the plan. A layout that looks impressive in isolation may create awkward routines, while a simpler arrangement may work better for the way your household uses its space.

Compare like with like

Use the actual plans and stated area information for the units you are comparing. Clarify what is included in the published area and how individual spaces are described. Do not infer room dimensions from a small marketing image or assume that two units with the same bedroom count offer equivalent usable arrangements.

Make furniture and storage visible

Mark approximate furniture footprints and circulation space. Identify where daily essentials would be stored, including cleaning equipment, luggage, and items that do not appear in a showflat. These exercises help generate questions for the sales team; confirm the actual dimensions and specifications before drawing firm conclusions.

Read the plan in its setting

A floor plan needs the site plan and the unit’s position beside it. Ask about orientation, access, shared areas, and the information available about neighbouring uses. Keep confirmed project information separate from an assumed view, expected quietness, or a future development story that has not been verified.

Choose a layout you can explain

After comparing, write a short reason why one plan suits your household better. Refer to practical differences rather than general labels such as ‘efficient’ or ‘premium’. That explanation gives you a useful basis for weighing the price difference and discussing the shortlist in a Property Health Check.
