What was announced
In its 3 June 2026 announcement, MND set out 4,745 private residential units on the second-half Confirmed List. Together with the first-half programme, the announced full-year Confirmed List total was 9,320 units. These are land-supply programme figures, not a count of completed homes immediately available for occupation.
Our reading: supply is a timeline
A land announcement is the beginning of a development process. It should not be treated as a promise about the launch date, price, or completion of a home you might eventually buy. The practical value is context: you can ask whether your housing timeline leaves room to consider future options.
If you need a home soon
Build your shortlist around properties that can meet your actual moving date. Waiting has a cost if it means temporary accommodation, repeated moves, or a difficult commute. Put those costs beside the potential benefits of a future launch instead of comparing an available home against an imagined ideal.
If you can wait
Define what would make waiting worthwhile: a preferred area, a suitable layout, or a more workable payment schedule. Set a review date and keep following confirmed information. A flexible plan is more useful than a prediction that every new site will become a bargain or that future prices must move in one direction.
Bring the decision back to your household
For an upgrader, compare the expected sale of your HDB flat with the complete cost and timing of the next purchase. For a first-time buyer, compare readiness and housing needs. Use this announcement as a prompt to review options, not as a signal to rush or postpone automatically.
