The June exercise in context
HDB’s June 2026 release described 6,952 flats across seven projects in Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Bukit Merah, Sembawang, and Woodlands. This is a retrospective planning note: the exercise is historical, and availability or application windows should not be inferred from this article. Consult the current HDB portal for live opportunities.
Start with the household’s timeline
The most attractive project on paper may not solve your immediate housing need. Consider where you would live while waiting, how work or family plans could change, and whether your current arrangement is sustainable. Put an estimated waiting period into a household calendar rather than leaving it as a small line in a comparison table.
Compare complete choices
Compare location, usable layout, flat classification, expected costs, and the conditions attached to the purchase. Avoid choosing solely by the lowest advertised price or by a neighbourhood’s popularity. A lower initial number can still come with trade-offs that matter to your future plans.
Do not carry old launch information forward
The June release referred to a later sales exercise expected in October. HDB’s October quarterly update subsequently described an upcoming November exercise. Historical announcements show what was known then; they are not a current application calendar. Recheck the latest official notice before acting on an older article.
A better first-home shortlist
Write down your acceptable move-in window, the monthly budget you want to preserve, and the compromises you can live with. Use those criteria consistently across BTO and resale options. The goal is a home that supports your next stage, rather than simply winning the most talked-about project.
